INSTRUCTIONS

Week 1:
Briefing & Task Arrangement

For this week, I was mainly assigned to polish the Live Navigation and Gamification flow. Besides that, I also started researching the use of earned points, badges, and achievements to see how these reward systems can help improve user retention and make the app experience more engaging. Since the team was still discussing the direction of some features, my work this week focused more on understanding how to make the navigation experience smoother and how gamification could support user motivation during travel. I also followed the team’s discussion on the booking flow research, as this decision would affect the overall user journey of the app. At this stage, I was still exploring suitable references and figuring out how to make the flow more practical and attractive for users.

Week 2:
UI Component & Hi-Fi Execution

This week, I continued working on the Live Navigation and Gamification flow while the team moved further into the hi-fi stage. My focus was on improving how users interact with the navigation feature and thinking about how gamification elements could be placed naturally into the flow without making it feel too distracting. I also looked deeper into reward mechanisms used in other travel and lifestyle apps, especially how points and achievements can encourage users to continue exploring and using the app. At the same time, I supported the overall Hi-Fi Wireframe and Content progress together with the team, making sure my part could align with the rest of the screens and the design direction.

Week 3:
Hi-Fi Refinement

During this week, I worked on several new tasks which included the crowd level heatmap, adding a camera permission pop-up before face verification, badge animation, and prototype linking. I focused on making the crowd level feature more understandable and useful for travelers, as it can help users make quicker decisions when choosing where to go. For the camera permission step, I wanted the flow to feel more realistic and user-friendly, especially before users enter the face verification process. I also explored how badge animation could make the gamification experience more rewarding and visually engaging. At the same time, I linked the prototype screens so the interactions could be tested more smoothly.

Week 4:
Animation & Prototype Linking

This week, I continued refining the prototype and improving the visual communication of my assigned features. Since animation and interaction played an important role in the app experience, I paid more attention to how users would feel when receiving rewards or moving through navigation-related screens. I also reviewed whether the prototype flow was connected logically and whether the interaction patterns remained consistent with the rest of the app. This stage helped me realise that even small transitions and visual feedback can greatly influence whether the app feels polished and user-friendly.

Week 5:
Promotional Material

For this week, my main tasks were to create a poster on train station mock-up and a social media post (1 picture). I worked on translating the app concept into promotional visuals that could present Travel Kaki in a more eye-catching and understandable way. I tried to make sure the promotional materials were consistent with the overall branding and UI direction of the app. While working on these deliverables, I also thought about how to visually highlight the app’s unique features, especially the travel navigation and gamification elements, so that audiences could quickly understand the app’s value.

Week 6:
User Testing & Slide Preparations

This week, I focused on preparing my assigned presentation slides, which were Problem Statement, Target Audience, and Technical Highlight. I organised the content to make sure the slides clearly explained the key issues faced by travelers, the specific users our app is targeting, and the technical strengths of Travel Kaki. Besides that, I also conducted user testing by interviewing one user to collect feedback on the app experience. This helped me understand how users respond to the features we designed and what aspects still need improvement. Lastly, I joined the Hi-Fi refinement based on feedback together with my teammates, where we adjusted the design according to testing insights and prepared the project for final presentation.
