REFLECTIONS
Experience

My venture into the world of Typography was undoubtedly a tough and challenging ride. Initially, when we dove into this module, I wasn't exactly thrilled about it. Thankfully, Mr. Vinod's lectures were a game-changer – his unique and refreshing style sparked my interest in learning Typography techniques.Despite facing some pretty demanding tasks that needed extra time and patience, I managed to keep up with the weekly progress and meet all the deadlines. Our lecturer's strict approach turned out to be the secret ingredient that elevated our work, making it not just good but also remarkably creative. Overall, I'm grateful for the experience!

Observations
Since delving into the realm of typography, I've noticed a significant elevation in my standards when it comes to choosing fonts. It feels like the lessons we've learned so far are just the beginning of a much broader exploration. I'm eagerly anticipating the continuous learning journey that lies ahead. In my daily interactions, whether on social media or out and about, I've developed a habit of scrutinizing signboards, banners, posters, and even product labels, contemplating how the letters are crafted and pondering the designers' thought processes and inspirations behind the fonts they chose. This module has instilled in me the values of consistency, time management, and patience. For instance, when constructing letters, maintaining consistency is crucial to ensure uniform width and stroke, giving the impression that they belong to the same typeface family. Time management skills, applicable not only in typography but in all aspects of work, have become a key takeaway. I've come to appreciate the importance of managing my time efficiently to meet deadlines. Moreover, this learning experience has been a practice ground for patience, especially with some challenging tasks that demanded extra time and effort.

Findings

Typography is a form of art, both an art and a technique that involves arranging type to enhance the legibility, readability, and visual appeal of written language when presented. Becoming a proficient typographer demands discipline and extensive practice.

After completing a task, seeking feedback from lecturers before submission is crucial. Embracing their insights and making necessary adjustments leads to the improvement of our work. Additionally, I've come to recognize the importance of practicing and experimenting with various tasks during exercises – as the saying goes, "practice makes perfect."

In conclusion, this module has provided me with a solid foundation and a basic understanding of how typography operates. It sets the stage for future challenges, and I'm eagerly anticipating the Advanced Typography module in the upcoming semester to delve even deeper into this fascinating field.
